This photo was taken in 1999 when, as usual, Elroy never even paused for a breath before volunteering to help students plant new trees in the Village. And below is that ‘other’ Elroy – the unofficial symbol of our annual Bear Lake Days Parade!
Elroy Urbanus is an unwavering supporter of friends and family both those who love him by kinship and those who have come to love him in return in his second family – Bear Lake Schools and community.
Knowing Elroy is a gift – and now it’s our turn to pay it forward. This is your opportunity to honor Elroy as he and his family fight the courageous fight against Lou Gerhig’s Disease.
Please join us for the First Annual Elroy Urbanus Scholarship Fund Walk!
This grand community event will raise funds to help graduating seniors of Bear Lake School with scholarships toward their future college education.
Meet at Hopkins Park, located just off US31, on the shore of Bear Lake. See Google Map Link here.
Line Up begins at 1.15pm.
Be sure to wear red and white to paint the town the colors of Bear Lake Schools!
Walk begins at 1.30pm and we will travel the route Elroy has taken for SO many years, passing by his second home of Bear Lake School, before returning to the Park for more fun filled activities! There will be a Silent Auction, Bake Sale, Farmers Market and more!
